Biography

Dr. Sarah Smith lives in Nashville, TN and has been affiliated with Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, now Frontier Nursing University since 1994; first as a student, then since 2008 as faculty. She received her BSN from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, MSN in nursing administration from Andrews’ University, certificate of nurse-midwifery from FSMFN, and DNP from Frontier Nursing University in 2012. Her capstone project, Pregnancy Care for Women after Bariatric Surgery: A Clinical Case Narrative and Care Map has led to further research interest involving full scope women’s health care of post-bariatric women.
Dr. Smith is currently the Course Coordinator of NM 717 and WH 717 Comprehensive Exam Review, and Clinical Bound team leader for NM 711. She serves on several university committees including Rank and By-laws Committees. She serves as faculty representative of Academic Honor Councils and is Capstone Committee chair for FNU post master DNP students. She continues her clinical practice two days every other week at Chattanooga Center for Women in Chattanooga, TN.
