Biography
Azra Alomerovic, DNP, APRN, FNP‑C, PMHNP‑BC, CNE, earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2015. She has been an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International since 2006, the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse-Midwives since 2008, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since 2009.
Dr. Alomerovic holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University, where she trained as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She later completed a Post‑Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing at Frontier Nursing University, earning PMHNP‑BC certification in 2021.
Her clinical background includes primary care in employee health and retail health settings in Louisville, as well as psychiatric consultation in her current PMHNP role. She has been a nurse for 23 years, including 17 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Dr. Alomerovic presented her doctoral capstone project, Perception of Weight Status among Adults across Weight Spectrum: A Field Study, at the Doctor of Nursing Practice Annual Conference. She became a Certified Nurse Educator in 2019, and her commitment to evidence‑based practice and clinical education led her to join Frontier Nursing University as Clinical Bound Faculty and Course Faculty in 2015.
She resides in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, where she enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
