Biography

Dr. Jeff Anderson began teaching in 2016, and has taught in both Masters and Doctoral PMHNP programs at Idaho State University, University of North Dakota and South Dakota State University, with a focus on clinical psychiatric advanced practice nursing and psychopharmacology. Dr. Anderson has 25 years of nursing experience working in the mental health field in rural eastern Idaho in both inpatient and outpatient settings, to include many years at the Idaho State Hospital. Since 2013, he has worked full time in outpatient clinics treating all age groups and all mental health conditions. Dr. Anderson is a strong believer in utilizing both traditional and evidenced based alternative treatment modalities to assist patients in reaching their highest level of functioning by the least intrusive means. As a retired Navy Commander with 29 years of reserve and active duty service, he has a passion for working with veteran and civilian patients dealing with trauma and PTSD, from any source. He enjoys all things outdoors, with a passion for hunting across the western US, and splits time living in eastern Idaho and Arizona.
