Born in Soest, Netherlands, Ally currently resides in southwestern Ohio. After spending almost a decade living and traveling across the globe as an active duty USAF member, Ally decided to come back to the US and settle near family. Ally currently lives in Oakwood, Ohio with her partner and their two teenage sons.
Ally holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with concentrations in TESOL (Applied Linguistics) and Behavioral Neuroscience. Her Master’s Degree in Education (Educational Technology) focused on the integration of new technology into classroom environments and curriculum design. She is currently working towards a second master's degree in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University.
Ally is a member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH), the American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL), the International Association for Technology in Education (ISTE), and the American Library Association (ALA/LITA). Her research interests include web accessibility, transmedia storytelling, LGBTQ+ health literacy, and using simulation to address health care disparities.
