Safe Space for Students
A Safe Space for Students
The Safe Space for Students is sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at Frontier Nursing University (FNU).
The Safe Space for Students is a space where all students can find a listening ear, encouragement, and guidance in confidence. This space allows students to get the support they may need when they feel overwhelmed.
When utilized, the Safe Space for Students is a space where students can feel safe sharing their experiences without fear of being judged. It is also a space where students can be connected to university resources. Students can enter the Safe Space with the assurance that they will be affirmed and supported, and valued.
While the Safe Space for Students is not intended to replace the academic advising provided by a student's faculty and clinical advisor or the program advisement and counseling available. It’s a space for students seeking help with situations they have encountered and need assistance with.
The Safe Space for Students is designed to improve support for all FNU students. Frontier Nursing University believes in providing a community for students to feel safe and fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and belonging, following the philosophical beliefs of the Culture of Caring of the University.
The Safe Space for Students will be coordinated by two staff liaisons under the leadership of the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Information shared in the Safe Space for Students will be kept by the Office of DEI.
