Job Description:

Gaia Midwives is a rapidly expanding privately owned and operated midwifery practice that specializes in community-based birth and provides full-scope midwifery services to families on Long Island, NY. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, informed, evidence-based services throughout the life cycle, following the midwifery model of care. We attend births both in hospitals and within the community.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Staff Midwife to join our team. The Staff Midwife will provide unbiased, culturally sensitive, and comprehensive midwifery services to patients in various settings, including the office, home, and hospital. The primary responsibilities of this role include gynecological and primary care, prenatal care, intrapartum care, postpartum care, newborn care, and collection and processing of specimens such as blood draws, pap smears, and cultures. Additionally, the Staff Midwife will ensure complete and accurate patient documentation, collect and appropriately document patient payments, and contribute to maintaining a clean and organized office space.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Midwifery (Required)
NY State Midwifery License (Preferred)
RN License (Preferred)
AMCB Certification (Preferred)
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a birth-related role (Preferred)
Responsibilities:

Provide full-scope midwifery services to patients, including gynecological and primary care, prenatal care, intrapartum care, postpartum care, and newborn care.
Collect and process specimens, such as blood draws, pap smears, and cultures.
Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient care.
Collect and document patient payments.
Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy office space.
