Nurse-Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, Astoria, OR

Overview
Every single person that works in our practice has worked in the industrial medical complex and seen what big healthcare as a business can do to providers.

We came together to create a practice that allows us to care for people the way we initially intended to: with time, attention, compassion, and by collaboratively solving problems rather than punting. And while nothing is perfect, what we have is pretty stinking good.

Our community loves us so much that we need to hire so we can clear our waitlist. Seriously, we have a lot of people.

If you are a nerd for primary care with a holistic bent (read: we love vaccines AND putting ACV on everything), love coastal living, are outdoorsy (you kind of have to be if you want to live here), and looking to provide individualized, comprehensive care to patients of all ages, genders, identities, and backgrounds, you might be the one.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and physical examinations.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team (our medical director is a Naturopathic Doctor and we have CNMs and LDEMs) to consult on diet, exercise, supplementation, appropriate medication management, with a strong focus on holistic, evidence-based care.
  • Order and interpret labs and imaging to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with various health conditions, including infectious diseases.
  • Monitor vital signs and manage patient care in outpatient settings.
  • Maintain prompt and accurate medical records (we utilize ai to streamline this, because who loves charting?)
  • Perform minor procedures and infusions.

Qualifications

  • Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
  • Valid state nursing license with prescriptive authority (we provide assistance in obtaining in-state licensure if you're relocating).
  • Experience in a community-based clinical setting preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to easily build rapport with patients and families who are coming to you because they're also burnt out on mainstream healthcare.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records systems for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • You should probably at least like dogs. Most of us have dogs. Not a dealbreaker if you don't, but we will judge you silently.

If you're looking for healthcare sans 50 layers of bureaucratic nonsense with good pay and benefits, close proximity to the absolute best french fry and ice cream place, and a team that is deeply dedicated, we'd love to talk.
