Back NURSE MIDWIFE BRONX, NY 1/24

Montefiore Bronx Health Collective

Montefiore Bronx Health Collective is seeking a midwife to join our Resiliency Initiative, which supports low-income families beginning in pregnancy through early childhood in raising healthy and resilient children who can reach their full potential. This evidence-based program includes: 1) screening and follow up on social factors known to undermine health in pregnancy and early childhood, 2) group prenatal and pediatric care until 18 months, 3) programs to promote early childhood literacy, and 4) our newest program addressing trauma in pregnancy and postpartum. The results of our programs, published in the literature, have shown demonstrable impact—resulting in on-going use of healthier behaviors after birth, longer duration of breastfeeding, healthier toddler weight at age 2 years, improved parenting, and increased enrollment in early education programs.

Montefiore Bronx Health Collective is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in the South Bronx offering innovative comprehensive primary care to communities challenged by social inequities and health disparities. We provide comprehensive primary care services to children and adults; specialty referral management through outreach assistance; women’s health and prenatal care; comprehensive mental health counseling; case management and entitlements assistance; health education, and integrated behavioral health. Clinicians in our program are able to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative programming through the support of our research and evaluation team.

We are looking for a mission-driven midwife to join our multi-disciplinary team that is working with our community to eradicate health disparities. Be part of a team to develop and implement our newest program to more effectively manage trauma during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
