Biography

Dr. Jackson holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Samford University in Birmingham, AL (2019) and graduated summa cum laude. In 2016, Dr. Jackson completed her Master of Science degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner program from South University in Savannah, GA. Dr. Jackson has worked in rural areas in North Carolina as a Family Nurse Practitioner by providing in-home visits for geriatric patients, performing physical examinations and diagnostic testing, diagnosing, treating patients, developing plans of care, and making referrals. Dr. Jackson has also worked in primary care in Red Springs, NC and provided health services for patients across the life span and culturally competent care for the predominantly Native American population. Dr. Jackson has been a Registered Nurse for 23 years and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of AR at Pine Bluff in 1998. She has extensive experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Nephrology, Public Health, and Geriatrics. Dr. Jackson is a member of several professional organizations. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and served as a Board member, 1st Counselor for the Omega Psi Chapter at Fayetteville State University. She is also a member of the American Nurses Association and has published three articles in their official peer-reviewed journal, American Nurse. These articles include the following: “A difficult conversation: How to tell family and friends when you expose them to COVID-19,” “Biosimilars: An alternative to biologics,” and Pyelonephritis: Early identification results in a positive outcome.” Dr. Jackson is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
