Biography
Niessa began her career as a labor and delivery nurse in 2000. After starting a family and gaining experience as an RN she enrolled in the CNEP program at Frontier. She graduated from Frontier in 2009 and worked full-time as a full-scope nurse-midwife for the next 5 years. Niessa returned to Frontier as a regional clinical faculty in 2013 and now teaches in the DNP clinical project courses. She continues to maintain a full-scope clinical practice in Kerrville, Texas. Professionally, she is fond of tackling clinical improvement projects and public speaking (especially about her favorite subject, midwifery care). In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and being active in the Texas ACNM Affiliate.
