Biography

Joe began his academic journey at Grays Harbor College, where he obtained his Nursing degree. Committed to serving underserved and rural populations, Joseph pursued a master's degree in nursing with a focus on Family Practice, followed by a Doctorate from Frontier Nursing University. Joe worked as a clinical manager at Fresenius in Aberdeen, where he significantly improved clinical quality scores, elevating them from the bottom 30% to nearly the 80th percentile nationwide in his clinic. He was named manager of the year in 2016 for the Washington capital region. Joseph was promoted to the role of Regional Education Coordinator. In this position, he was responsible for the formal education program, including lecture and clinical education for new hires. As an NP, Joe completed a one-year residency at Summit Pacific Medical Center while pursuing his doctoral degree. His doctoral initiative is called, “A Patient-Centered Approach to Improving Diabetes Renal Care at a Rural Primary Care Clinic." His primary clinical interests now include reducing pain while preventing cardiovascular disease and managing diabetes through exercise therapy and nutrition. Outside of his professional life, Joseph enjoys spending time with his three children and wife. He is also an active sports enthusiast, participating in running, Jiu-Jitsu, and weight training.
