Biography

Mairi graduated from Berry College in 2009 with a Bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in business. She then completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University in 2012. After gaining experience as a labor nurse in hospital and community settings, she returned to academic pursuits at Frontier Nursing University. Mairi completed a Master of Science in Nurse-Midwifery (CNEP class 155) and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Women's Health in 2018. She then went on to complete the companion Doctor of Nursing Practice (class 32) in 2020, implementing a virtual women’s wellness initiative. Mairi is dual board-certified as a nurse-midwife (CNM) and women's health nurse practitioner (WHNP-BC). After completing the midwifery program, she worked in a high-volume obstetrical practice serving primarily Spanish-speaking women. She then worked for Emory University as both a clinical professor and a high-fidelity simulation instructor. She currently practices as a midwife hospitalist for Kaiser Permanente. Mairi serves as faculty at Frontier Nursing University in the Nurse-Midwifery and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner programs. She holds a passion for empowering women through evidence-based care, shared decision-making, and advocating for patient autonomy. Mairi married college sweetheart Jonathan, an accountant by day and passionate supporter of midwifery by night. She is the proud mother to her son and three rescue fur-babies.
