Biography

Lourdes Prince DNP, CNM, APRN Biography Dr. Lourdes Prince is a Regional Clinical Faculty member at Frontier Nursing University. She has been a Certified Nurse Midwife since 1998. She was a labor & delivery nurse for 12 years before obtaining a Master’s of Science in Nursing in 1998 and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2012 from the University of Florida. She worked in a full scope private practice for before joining an OB-GYN Faculty practice with Orlando Health in Orlando, Florida. She joined FNU in May 2023 as a Regional Clinical Faculty for Midwifery and Women’s Health. At Orlando Health, Dr. Prince participated in the Perinatal Improvement Collaborative, testing interventions and protocols to reduce preventable deaths and complications among mothers and babies. She supervised first year OB-GYN residents with normal labor and birth. She helped launch the collaborative practice between Maternal Fetal Medicine and Certified Nurse Midwives at Winnie Palmer Hospital. She is committed to improving healthcare by clinically preparing OB-GYN residents, nurse practitioners and nurse midwives to serve their communities and has been precepting graduate students since 1999. Her passion for precepting evolved into joining FNU as an RCF. Dr. Prince has demonstrated her interest in and commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as a member of the Diversity Impact Planning Committee and as a reviewer for Nursing Workforce Diversity grant scholarships. She serves as a member of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging committee, the Culture of Caring committee, and is a member of Frontier Nursing University’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Faculty Fellows.
