Biography

Angie has been a full-scope midwife since 2009. She has experience in various birth settings including home, hospital, and birth centers. She is committed to integrating the midwifery model of care in the US. She recently completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Johns Hopkins University. Angie is motivated by the desire to improve the quality of healthcare. She has led quality improvement projects on skin-to-skin implementation, labor induction, and improving transfer of care practices between hospital and community midwives. She serves on the Kentucky Midwifery Learning Collaborative, an intensive 3-year program from the Institute if Medicaid Innovation that supports state-based teams looking to develop sustainable initiatives to advance midwifery models of care for the Medicaid population. In 2017, she created a short film on skin-to-skin called The Heart of Touch. She was a co-host of Midwifing America, a national podcast created for reimagining reproductive and maternity care in America. Angie is active in the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She is the current membership chair of the Kentucky affiliate. She was the Oregon affiliate chair of the public relations committee from 2017-2020. She is the past chair the ACNM Membership & Marketing Committee.
