Biography
Dr. Liz Niederegger is a national expert in women’s health. She has been practicing for the past 35 years as a registered nurse and for the past 26 years as a certified-nurse midwife. Liz has worked in private practice performing full scope midwifery, and worked in a high risk academic practice setting. Liz has actively practiced in all realms of Women’s Health since 1999. She is an expert in patient care and evidence-based practice. Liz joined Frontier Nursing University (FNU) as a Regional Clinical Faculty in June of 2022. She enjoys the camaraderie and rapport with students and preceptors. She added the role of Clinical Bound Faculty at FNU in the Summer of 2023. In April of 2024, Liz Became a Clinical Bound Team Lead at FNU in addition to her RCF role. Liz loves engaging and interacting in a synchronous setting filled with simulation, modeling, engagement and debriefing. Prior to joining FNU, she was a full time Assistant Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing (UC CON). She was awarded the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) Excellence in Teaching Award in 2019. She received this national recognition in 2018, and 2016 as well. In 2020, Liz was nominated and chosen for The George Barbour Award, which focuses on mentoring and good faculty-student relations. She is a certified Organon Nexplanon trainer. Her scholarship endeavors include having publications in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at both the national and state level. She is a peer reviewer for articles for the Clinicaladvisor.com “Advisor Dx Newsletter” (Haymarket Media, Inc.). Dr. Niederegger has served on local, regional, and national task forces that address women’s health and evidence-based practice. While at UC, Liz created an innovative suture training course, which included a suturing practice video. She also assisted in the development of an innovative asynchronous clinical skill intensive (CSI) event to accommodate the limitations of COVID. She is passionately invested in the care of people, and the education of students. She has been married to her husband for 36 years, and has three children, three in-law children and six grandchildren, two dogs and ten chickens. In her spare time, Liz loves to garden, cook, read, and spend time outdoors with her family. Liz values faith, family and friendship.
