Biography
Since starting his teaching career in the field of high school social studies at the age of 22, Dr. Moore has always valued the role of education in bettering the lives of those actively learning and those who will be better off due to the work of said students. He is adamant about continuous learning as related to emerging research and practices and is a firm believer in utilizing our educational institutions the broaden the minds of as many students as possible. Dr. Moore also owns and operates a private psychiatric practice located in Richmond, VA.
Dr. Moore is a board-certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, specializing in utilizing evidence-based practices to provide individualized, holistic care to adolescents and adults. He has focused experience working alongside LGBTQ+-identifying individuals, individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), individuals with trauma histories, individuals managing addiction/substance use concerns, and individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness. He also has a background in secondary and adult education and talk therapy, allowing him to utilize these skills in a comprehensive manner alongside each patient.
Dr. Moore obtained a Master of Education degree in Professional Counseling from the University of Georgia in 2011 and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University in 2015. He also obtained a graduate certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice from George Washington University in 2017 and completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2019.
