Biography

Dr. Wetzel is a two-time graduate of Frontier Nursing University, first with her post-master's FNP and then her DNP. She presented her DNP project, "Implementing Effective Management of Patients Prescribed Opioids in a Suburban Clinic" as a poster at the 2022 IHI National Form, as a podium presentation at the 2023 IHI Scientific Symposium, and her abstract was one of twenty selected for publication in the November 2022 edition of the BJM. In 2023, she presented her educational module, "Simplified Drug Test Interpretation" at the AANP National Conference in New Orleans. In 2024, she will present her poster "Managing Patients Prescribed Opioids" at the 2024 AANP National Conference in Nashville. Estella resides in Beavercreek, Ohio with her husband and their dog Wolfgang. She enjoys spending time with their three sons and daughters-in-law and her two grandchildren. Her hobbies include restoring and using antique and vintage people-powered sewing machines, quilting and cross stitching.
