Biography

Michele North, DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC, CNM, is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife who serves as faculty with a commitment to advancing nursing education and improving outcomes in women’s health. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Methodist College in 2006, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in 2011. She later completed a Post-Master’s Certificate in Women’s Health in 2014 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2018, both from Frontier Nursing University. Dr. North brings extensive clinical experience into the academic setting, enriching student learning through real-world application and an evidence-based approach to care. Her teaching focuses on women’s health, reproductive care, and clinical skill development, with an emphasis on fostering clinical reasoning, confidence, and compassionate, patient-centered practice among students. Her professional interests include women’s health across the lifespan, reproductive and sexual health, and improving access to quality care. She is dedicated to supporting student success through mentorship, clear communication, and creating a supportive learning environment. Dr. North maintains active membership in numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Nurse Midwives, Nebraska Nurse Practitioner Association, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH).
