Biography

Lauren Arrington is a CNEP graduate of Frontier Nursing University (Class 48)! She has practiced as a midwife with the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center since 2010. She also served as a maternal health advisor for Jhpiego where she supported maternal health projects in Lesotho, Kenya, Nigeria, and Liberia. She has a BA in History and Africana Studies from Brown University and a BSN from Georgetown University. She received her doctorate in nursing practice at Duke University and is a Margolis Health Policy and Management Scholar. Lauren is passionate about health care justice, co-development and global health equity. She is the daughter of Karen McGill Lawson and granddaughter of Dorothy McGill and Florence Gullins, the great-grand-daughter of Florence Arrington, Violet Baylor, Mary McGill and Olivia Cooley, the great-great-granddaughter of Dora Haines Sharper, and the great-great-great-granddaughter of Margaret Ann Brewer Moore.
