Biography

Billie Anne Gebb, MSLS, is the Director of Library Services for Frontier Nursing University. She began working at FNU as the sole librarian in 2006 and has been working in academic libraries since 2002. Under her direction the library staff at FNU has grown to include five full-time positions. She co-authored a chapter with other FNU faculty in Best Practices in Midwifery: Using the Evidence to Implement Change, an American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year for 2013. She has also published articles in Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning and Journal of Electronic Resources in Medical Libraries. Ms. Gebb was previously Reference Librarian at Midway College in Midway, KY and Law Librarian for Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC (now Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP) in Covington, KY. She received her Master of Science in Library Science from the University of Kentucky in 2000. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. Primary research areas for Ms. Gebb include information literacy throughout the curriculum and mobile technology. She is an active member on several FNU committees, chairing the Library Committee. Ms. Gebb lives in Lexington, KY with her husband and three children. In her free time you can find her watching a multitude of sports, including but not limited to, Steelers football, UK basketball, and her kids’ soccer games and track meets.
