Biography

I became interested in Frontier Nursing University while participating in an immersion class during my Bachelor's program. At that time, students rode with the visiting nurses of Frontier Nursing Service while they provided care to individuals in the community. The moment I stepped onto Frontier Nursing University campus, I knew that I wanted to further my education here. Prior to attending Frontier Nursing University, I began the journey of becoming an educator. I started this journey at a local community college, teaching clinical skills to LPN students. Upon completion of Frontier Nursing University, I set out to educate graduate students. In 2009, I began teaching for Frontier Nursing University in the capacity of a Regional Clinical Faculty member. During my time with Frontier Nursing University, I was invited to participate in two poster presentations. The presentation was based on telehealth as a means of meeting the needs of the college student. As a family nurse practitioner, I have provided care to the persons of my community. This care has been given within the walls of a rural health clinic. In 2013, I was honored to be allowed the chance to purchase the clinic from the country doctor that had been practicing there for 50 years. The clinic has slowly emerged as one of the first nurse managed clinics in the area. The purpose of the clinic is to meet the needs of all patients in the surrounding area. I obtained my Master's Science of Nursing with a certification in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2008 from Frontier Nursing University. I later attended Brandman University, where I obtained a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2013.
