Biography
Diana R. Jolles graduated from the University of Colorado in Denver. Between 2000 and 2005, Jolles served at Holy Family Services Birth Center as a National Health Service Corp Scholar, program developer and data and statistics chair. In 2005, she led a transition to midwifery-led, family centered, physiologic birth initiative at Denver Health Medical Center, a safety-net teaching hospital. In 2006, Jolles became the General Director of the Family Health and Birth Center in Washington DC. At FHBC, she served as the non-profit manager, grant writer, programmatic developer and full scope clinician. She served as the site lead for beta testing the American Association of Birth Centers Uniform Data Set, worked with the Urban Institute, George Washington University and the Commonwealth fund to document the effect of the midwifery-led model of care. Jolles completed a PhD in Nursing Research evaluating unwarranted variations in care to Childbearing Medicaid Beneficiaries receiving care at Strong Start Birth Center sites. Jolles was a part of the El Rio Community Health Center midwifery service, an FQHC offering both CABC accredited alongside unit and hospital birth between 2015 and 2023. In 2023, Jolles was accepted to serve as a fellow for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation within the learning and diffusion team. Jolles lives with her family in Atlantic City, NJ.
