Biography

Born in Soest, Netherlands, Ally currently resides in southwestern Ohio. After spending almost a decade living and traveling across the globe as an active duty USAF member, Ally decided to come back to the US and settle near family. Ally holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with concentrations in TESOL (Applied Linguistics) and Behavioral Neuroscience. Her Master’s Degree in Education (Educational Technology) focused on the integration of new technology into classroom environments and curriculum design. Ally has additional coursework and certificates in graphic design and multimedia, informatics and UX design, and EMS. Ally is a member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH), the American Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL), the International Association for Technology in Education (ISTE), and the American Library Association (ALA/LITA). Her research interests include web accessibility, transmedia storytelling in narrative medicine, LGBTQ+ health literacy, and using simulation in disaster preparedness.
