Biography
Dr. Engstrom is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner and has worked in the area of women’s health and perinatal nursing for almost 50 years. Her clinical experience includes providing prenatal and postnatal care, family planning services, and gynecological, reproductive endocrinology, and infertility services. She is also a human milk and lactation researcher. She has published 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals and written several book chapters. Dr. Engstrom has taught nurses, nurse-midwives, and nurse practitioners for over 40 years and has won numerous awards for her teaching. She is a Certified Nurse Educator and Certified Online Educator and her teaching has focused on reproductive health, human milk and breastfeeding, research methods, epidemiology, and biostatistics.
