Biography

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife of over 12 years and completed both my Midwifery and DNP education at Frontier Nursing University. My doctoral thesis project was “Evidence Based Guidelines for Initiating and Maintaining Lactation in Breast Pump Dependent Women”. I have been in many full-scope clinical practice locations, including urban Title X (family planning), a large rural OB clinic, and consulting for high-risk patients in a home-based midwifery practice among the Amish. Currently, my clinical work is limited to PRN hospital OB call for the Erie Family Health Center's Midwife practice at Prentice Hospital. Currently, I teach full time at Rush College of Nursing while completing my Post-DNP, PMHNP program. My areas of expertise are family planning, global health, normal physiologic birth and breastfeeding. I am concentrating on psychiatric treatments during the childbearing year for my own schooling currently. Other areas of interest include dance, body movement and music as therapeutic treatments.
