Biography

Kendra has a BS in Comparative Religion from Vanderbilt University ('00). She attended the Lexington Healing Arts Academy to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2001. She was a labor doula, childbirth educator, and specialized in pregnancy massage in the early 2000's. She supported many women in childbirth and observed what wonderful experiences her clients had with midwives! In 2007, Kendra returned to school to become a registered nurse. While working as a Labor and Delivery nurse and Postpartum nurse, she finished her MSN at Frontier Nursing University in May of 2012. She was awarded the FNU "Kitty Ernst Leadership Award" in 2012. Kendra worked as a full-scope practice CNM and then completed her DNP at Yale University. Her capstone project was titled "Accuracy in reporting of Kentucky's Certified Nurse-Midwives as birth attendant in birth registration data." Kendra is an active member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and President of the Kentucky Affiliate . She was named a Fellow of the ACNM in 2022 and was awarded the "Excellence in Teaching Award." Kendra is the course coordinator for the Midwifery Comprehensive Review Course. Kendra is married to a fellow Yale DNP graduate, Joshua Faucett, who teaches in the FNP program. They have three teens. Kendra enjoys weight-lifting, gardening, and reading.
