Ambassador Program

Tobacco Free Ambassadors are trained peer representatives of the FNU community aimed at supporting culture change of tobacco-free across the FNU Versailles campus. We view ourselves as partners with student organizations, local businesses, our community, and our environment. Our goal is to improve the health of the FNU community by enhancing access to cessation support services and strengthening FNU policy enforcement through peer-to-peer support model.

Tobacco Free Ambassadors demonstrate leadership, professionalism, compassion and the desire to promote and celebrate a healthier campus. Tobacco Free Ambassadors are encouraged to identify and monitor potential "hotspots" as they make non-judgmental approaches, provide education, and are available for dialogue around tobacco use if someone chooses to engage.

Tobacco Free Ambassadors receive empowering training to educate with sightings of smoke and tobacco use on FNU Versailles campus, offer supportive resources, and encourage the "norming" of non-tobacco behavior on FNU Versailles campus. Training will prepare Tobacco Free Ambassadors to approach someone smoking/ using tobacco products on campus, ask them to abide by the policy, and offer locally available cessation products and resources to keep them comfortable on campus while refraining from tobacco use.

The Tobacco-Free Ambassador is a volunteer position.
