Serve as midwife on call for private free-standing, physician and hospital affiliated birthing center, performing triage, labor support and management, serving primarily in the birth assistant role, in collaboration with patient's primary midwife or physician provider. Midwife will perform all patient intake and exams, vital signs and fetal monitoring, newborn exam, inpatient postpartum care, and 24 hour postpartum visits. Midwife will also provide primary provider coverage within the birth center as needed, performing deliveries for primary provider patients during PTO/vacation or hospital patient conflict. This is a call-from-home role, with 4 hours of outpatient office weekly, mainly seeing birth center patients in their third trimester. Provider will be on call 3-5 times per week, inclusive of no more than 2 weekends per month, and may expect to work up to 80 clinical hours per month (providing care for approximately 4 laboring patients per month), with bonusing for more clinical hours. Part-time option also available with lower call burden.
Requirements:
- Arizona Midwifery License in good standing
- NRP certification
- BLS certification
- 2 years of active midwifery experience, performing deliveries or new graduates with labor and delivery nursing experience.
- Ideal candidate will have birth center experience and/or experience supporting women in unmedicated labor
