Midwife, Hospitalist, Fellowship Program, Orlando, FL

Orlando Health currently has over 1200 credentialed Advanced Practice Providers (APP’s) and is proud to offer multiple APP fellowships for newly graduated Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Midwives. We will be starting our new Midwife Hospitalist Fellowship Program this upcoming November 2025. During this 12-month fellowship, you will have extensive hands-on training in the hospital environment with the Orlando Health Medical Group Women’s Service Line and Orlando Health Physician Associates.

Program Overview:

The Postgraduate Midwifery Fellowship is 12 months of clinical practice-based experience along with didactic education from multiple subspecialties.

Overview

    • Training in management of disorders in obstetrics and gynecology
    • Formulating accurate diagnosis, treatment plans, and outcome analysis
    • Inter-personal learning with a team-based approach.
    • Case presentations
    • Average of 45-50 clinical hours weekly (90-100 hours biweekly)

  • Antepartum
  • Triage
  • OB/Gyn surgery

Didactic

  • CORE/ Boot camp
  • Simulation Labs
  • Journal Conferences

Assessments

  • Fellow assessments
    • End of Rotation Evaluations
    • Milestone based and goal-oriented reviews
    • 1:1 clinical evaluation by preceptors
    • Program Assessments
    • Preceptor Assessments & Director Evaluations

Graduation Requirements

  • Achieve or exceed milestones
  • Maintain professionalism
  • Complete fellowship requirements including passing all assessments and evaluations
  • Certificate of completion awarded at graduation

How to Apply

You will be required to provide your current resume, personal statement and three letters of recommendations. The personal statement should be a brief synopsis explaining why you want to complete this fellowship and why you would be the best candidate for the position. The letters of recommendation should have knowledge of your clinical ability and come from a physician and two advanced practice provider peer references.

DEADLINES

  • Applications are due by May 23, 2025 
  • Interviews will take place from May 26 – June 30th  
  • Final decisions will be made by July 1st
  • Fellowship start date: Monday November 3, 2025, and will complete Friday, October 30, 2026.
