Labor of Love Birth Center is excited to welcome a passionate, experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to lead our team as Staff Midwife in Tampa, FL. This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced midwife with a commitment to physiological birth and trauma-informed care, or for a midwife ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. Previous leadership experience is preferred, but we are open to the right midwife who is eager to grow within a supportive environment.
As part of a growing practice, you will benefit from the guidance and support of an experienced birth center team, committed to providing holistic, high-quality care to every family. Our birth center offers comprehensive, full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum support. In this role, you'll have the chance to provide high-touch care, with 30-60 minute appointments, evidence-based policies that support physiological birth, and a trauma-informed approach to care.

- Graduate from an approved and accredited Nurse Midwifery program Certified as a nurse midwife by the American Midwifery Certifying Board (AMCB)
- Active RN and APRN Licensure in the State of Florida
- Experienced in the clinical practice of nurse midwifery and administration
- Active member of the ACNM
- Meets continuing competency criteria of the State of Florida and AMCB
- Current NRP and BLS certification
- Essential Functions:
- The certified nurse midwife (CNM) is an advanced practice nurse who is responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nurse midwifery care delivered to antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum, and newborn clients, as well as providing preventive care, reproductive care, and gynecological care. The CNM performs physical exams; collects and documents data; facilitates physiological labor, birth and emergency management; conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations; and prescribes appropriate interventions and medications.
- Participates in direct client care activities in rotation with other CNM(s)
- Adheres to the birth center model of care and philosophy of physiological birth, trauma-informed care, and informed consent
- Adheres to birth center eligibility criteria for clients throughout antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.
- Provides comprehensive midwifery care and appropriate referrals
- Provides competent and respectful care to all families regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or disabilities
- Participates in once-monthly drills/ in-service
- Participates in professional and community awareness activities
- Supervises the orientation and functioning of birth assistants
- Responsible for delegated aspects of daily operation, including acting in absence of Director of Midwifery
- Participates in a quality assurance program
- All staff are responsible for the maintenance and care of the birth center which includes cleaning, sanitation, laundry, and equipment maintenance
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
