Job Summary
The Primary Midwife at Madiluu Birth Centre provides comprehensive prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care to women and their families in a supportive and nurturing environment. This role involves assisting individuals through labor and delivery, ensuring safe and positive childbirth experiences, and promoting maternal and infant health. The Primary Midwife collaborates with healthcare teams and educates patients on health practices related to pregnancy and childbirth.
Key Responsibilities
● Prenatal Care: Conduct routine prenatal visits, perform physical assessments, monitor fetal development, and provide education on pregnancy health.
● Labor and Delivery: Capable of doing births independently, providing physical and emotional support, and implementing pain management techniques.
● Postnatal Care: Offer postpartum support and education to new mothers regarding infant care, breastfeeding, and recovery.
● Newborn Care: Newborn examinations and resuscitation
● Breastfeeding counseling: lactation support to mothers
● Patient Education: Develop and deliver educational materials on topics such as prenatal
nutrition, childbirth preparation, and newborn care.
● Health Assessments: Monitor and document maternal and fetal health status, identify
potential complications, and implement appropriate interventions.
● Collaboration: Work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare
providers to ensure comprehensive care.Midwives will always be supported medically by the
presence of OBGYNs and pediatricians, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients.
● Medical Documents: All Medical documents like prescriptions, discharge summary , Labs
will be signed by the concerned doctor.
● Community Outreach: Engage in community health initiatives to promote maternal and
infant health awareness.
● Participating in the review of clinical cases with clinical staff weekly. Debriefing with the birth
team after births.
● Participating in regular monthly and/or quarterly skills and drills sessions to ensure continued competence.
● Assisting in screening and selection of clinical staff, including nurses, doctors, and midwives.
● Training of clinical staff in the midwifery model of care
● Participating in the creation, implementation, and annual review of clinical policy and procedures along with rest of clinical staff
● Participating in the collaborative working relationships with the center’s midwives, nurses and physicians.
● Participation in community outreach activities and event

Madiluu Birth Centre was founded by Dr. Kalpana, a senior obstetrician-gynecologist with over 30 years of experience, and Rishitha, a passionate childbirth educator and mother of two.
Dr. Kalpana brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in maternal health, ensuring that the center operates under the highest standards of care. Her extensive experience allows her to address both common and complex issues in pregnancy and childbirth effectively.

Travel and Visa
Candidates applying for this position should be prepared to navigate the visa application process. The Madiluu Birth Centre will sponsor a business visa valid for 6 months. Should candidates wish to stay longer, they will need to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). Should candidates wish to secure extended employment with us, we can sponsor an employment visa, which will include a fixed and competitive monthly salary along with additional perks.
● Travel Costs: Flight charges will be borne by the candidate.
● Accommodation: Comfortable accommodation will be provided.● Monthly Allowance: A monthly allowance of ₹50,000 will be provided for food and travel expenses.
Qualifications Education:
● Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
● Completion of an accredited midwifery education program (Master’s degree in Nurse
Midwifery preferred).
Licensure and Certification:
● Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
● Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or equivalent.
● Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Experience:
● Experience in midwifery or related fields.
● Clinical experience in labor and delivery.
Skills and Competencies
● Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
● Ability to provide compassionate care in high-stress situations.
● Knowledge of current practices and guidelines in midwifery and maternal health.
