Announcements

For the Spring 2022 Scholarship Cycle, Frontier Nursing University’s (FNU) Chi Pi Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI) awarded Jeanne Chutuape, Mara Glantz, and Elizabeth Carr with a $750 scholarship.

To qualify for STTI membership, students must have completed at least a quarter of their degree program, hold a 3.5 or higher grade point average and demonstrate academic excellence.

Here is what FNU students had to say about receiving this scholarship:

“This scholarship will allow me to step into a more full-time student role and complete the DNP program in less time and with less debt. I am dedicated to improving the health of my community, I am a seasoned nurse with 15 years in the profession and I have many more years to give. The sooner I am able to graduate with the DNP, the sooner I can begin to teach the next generation of nurses.” - Mara Gantz

“What an honor to receive this scholarship award. As I have been doing a lot of traveling for my clinical training, the scholarship will help defray those costs.  I have learned so much from clinicals and this grant definitely takes some of the worry out of balancing the travel cost of clinical training in my stretched budget.” - Jeanne Chutuape

“This scholarship will allow me to continue focusing on my clinical learning. Due to the increased cost of travel, it has been particularly challenging to commute to my multiple clinical sites, so this scholarship will facilitate my clinical experiences via travel.” - Elizabeth Carr

Congratulations to Frontier’s Spring 2022 Chi Pi scholarship recipients! The FNU community is proud of your dedication to hard work despite the continued obstacles of COVID-19.

Big Creek Mission Fundraiser

Our STTI Chi Pi chapter was able to donate $3640 to Big Creek Missions near Hyden, KY. As a chapter, we have supported this organization for several years and we are excited to continue this tradition.

Big Creek Missions

During Frontier's September 2019 faculty Meeting, Frontier faculty raised $1,820 to donate to Big Creek Missions in Hyden, KY.  This amount was matched by our Chi Pi chapter. We were so excited to present Mary Lewis at Big Creek Missions with a check for $3,640! She told us that with this money, the organization will be able to buy enough food to fill seven box trucks.
