Biography

I joined the FNU faculty in 2009 as Florida Regional Clinical Faculty for the CNEP and WHNP program tracks. In 2010 I joined the academic faculty. I am a graduate of FNU (class 29) and received my nursing education in Michigan and a Bachelor of Art degree in Anthropology at Western Michigan University. I completed a Master of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in 2002. Currently, I'm working toward a PhD at Rush University.
My area of research expertise is social determinants of physical activity during pregnancy. Specifically, I'm interested in the development of theory-based and culturally appropriate interventions to improve exercise participation during pregnancy.
I practiced midwifery in Central Florida for eleven years primarily in low resource settings with under-served populations.
