Seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife to join a solo CNM in a successful homebirth practice.
Gentle Harbor Midwifery has been serving families in Southwest Michigan and North Central/ Northwest Indiana since 2013. Our focus is on care during antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn periods. I am looking for an additional CNM to improve life and work balance, and to increase the service capacity in this region. Gentle Harbor Midwifery is proudly based in the Lake Michigan shoreline community of St. Joseph/ Benton Harbor, Michigan. It is a small town with beautiful beaches and sunsets. It has a reasonable cost of living commensurate with the Midwest. The larger cities of Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and South Bend are only 60 minutes away.
Duties:
-provide pregnancy care by monitoring the health of the mother and her unborn baby
-provide education, counseling and prenatal care individualized to each woman
-support through labor and birth
-provide postpartum care and support for mom and baby, including advice on issues such as breastfeeding and newborn care
-provide newborn care up to 6 weeks
Skills and Knowledge;
-ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
-knowledge of midwifery theory, procedure, and standards
-ability to plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care
-ability to offer informed consent and provide evidenced-based care
-ability to perform patient assessment
-ability to communicate care via electronic medical record (EMR mobile midwife used)
-ability to make administrative/ procedural decisions and judgments
Minimum requirements:
-Masters degree or higher
-Michigan and Indiana licensure; RN and CNM
-CPR and NRP certifications
New graduates considered for fellowship training. I will accept a part-time position for an experienced applicant
Compensation:
Salary based on experience; range: $85,000- $100,000
4 weeks of paid vacation; stipend for CEU
