FRONTIER BOUND FEE AND BT101 FEE
The $575 Frontier Bound and $100 BT101 fee must be paid 21 days prior to arriving on campus for Bound.  These fees are not eligible to be covered by federal financial aid.

The Frontier Bound fee pays for your meals and lodging during your four day on-campus stay

You will NOT receive an invoice for Frontier Bound payments. Payments can be made online using your debit or credit card and we can even accept echecks!

BACKGROUND CHECK
Please be advised, a background check is the final step in completing your admission criteria to FNU. Applicants who have received an offer of admission will be required to complete a background check. Click here for instructions on completing this check. Background check must be requested within 14 calendar days from the date of admissions offer.

HEALTH FORMS
Your health forms must be uploaded into BT101(discussed later on this page) before permission can be granted to arrive on campus and attend Frontier Bound.  The following health forms are required:

  • Hepatitis B (either three vaccination dates or a positive titer)
  • Mumps, Rubella, Rubeola (either two vaccination dates or positive titers for each)
  • Varicella (two vaccinations dates or a positive titer)
  • TB skin or blood test that has been completed within the last year or a chest x-ray that has been completed within the last five years
  • A Current health examination (kept current within one year)

The forms will be submitted into the BT101 course.  Directions for uploading health forms can be found on the tab labeled 'Health Forms'.

FINANCIAL AID

VA STUDENTS

FNU is a VA friendly institution.   Please submit your CoE (Certificate of Eligibility) to FNU’s VA Certifying Official, Rainie Boggs.  It is preferred the CoE be scanned and emailed to rainie.boggs@frontier.edu.  However, you may also fax it to 859-899-2870.  If you don’t have a copy of your CoE you may contact a VA Educational Specialist at the Department of Veteran Affairs at 888.442.4551.

Questions regarding the process of having benefits transferred to you (Transfer of Entitlement), from a spouse or parent, should be directed to a VA Educational Specialist at the Department of Veteran Affairs at 888.442.4551.

BOUND REGISTRATION/HOUSING FORM
Bound registration will be completed in BT101 and should be completed 21 days prior to arriving on campus.

TRAVEL
Travel time to campus from the Lexington Bluegrass airport (LEX) is an estimated 2 ½ hours.
FNU offers a round-trip transportation service from the airport to campus. The charge is $75 and must be paid prior to utilizing the service. Payments can be made online using your debit or credit card and we can even accept echecks!

  • ATTENTION: At the present time, transportation is not offered for Psych Mental Health Students.


AIR TRAVEL ARRIVAL - Bridge / Family Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Midwifery / Women’s Health / DNP Students If you are traveling by air and utilizing the transportation service offered by FNU, please ensure your arrival time at the Lexington Bluegrass airport will be before 2:00pm EST on the date that coincides with your class number listed above. 

Psych Mental Health Students If you are traveling by air, please ensure your arrival time at the airport will be well enough in advance for you to drive to campus on the date that coincides with your class number listed above. Students arriving at the Lexington Bluegrass airport should plan on no less than 3 hours between arrival time to the airport and arrival to campus.

AIR TRAVEL DEPARTUREBridge / Family Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Midwifery / Women’s Health / DNP Students Your return flight should be scheduled for the date that coincides with your class number listed above and after 12:00pm EST.

Psych Mental Health Students If you are traveling by air, please ensure your flight departure time will give you enough time to drive from campus to the airport on the date that coincides with your class number listed above. You will not be able to depart campus until approx. 12:30 pm on the day listed above that coincides with your class.

CAR TRAVEL ARRIVAL

  • Bridge / Family Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Midwifery / Women’s Health / DNP Students –Please arrive on campus by 4:00pm EST on the day listed above the coincides with your class number.
  • Psych Mental Health Students – Please arrive on campus by 3:00pm EST on the day listed above.


CAR TRAVEL DEPARTURE

  • Bridge / Family Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Midwifery / Women’s Health / DNP Students –Departure from campus will be approximately 8:00am EST on the day listed above that coincides with your class.
  • Psych Mental Health Students –Departure from campus will be approximately 12:30pm EST on the day listed above.

MSN COURSE TRANSFERS (Transfer credits do not apply to ADN or DNP)
Any student planning to transfer graduate level courses, will need to submit all course transfer forms and course syllabus to the Registrar at sherri.davis@frontier.edu three weeks prior to Frontier Bound.

CONNECT WITH THE UNIVERSITY
FNU’s Information Technology (IT) Department will email your personal email within seven days from your offer of admission.  This email will contain your FNU email address and login information to the Student Self-Service system.  Once in Self-Service you will have access to your FNU ID.  

If on the eighth day, you have not been contacted by IT, please phone 859.899.2525.

BT101
Now that you have received your FNU Student ID and FNU email address you will need to complete BT101.  You will want to access https://portal.frontier.edu, click on Canvas located on the top tool bar.  Once inside of Canvas, BT101 will be listed under 'courses'.  BT101 must be completed prior to arriving on campus for Frontier Bound.

ONLINE INFORMATION SESSION
You will ​be required to attend a live, online group Information Q&A Session presented by the Student Services ​Department prior to attending Frontier​/Bridge & DNP​ Bound​s​. The session will provide you with what to expect once you arrive on campus and other important information.

BT202
After you have completed Frontier Bound you will gain access to BT202 which must be completed by week eight (8) of your first term of enrollment. BT202 will be listed as a course in Canvas.
