Dr. Michael Carter (2002), of Tumbling Shoals, AR. is a family and geriatric nurse practitioner. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing, a Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow of the National Academies of Practice, and a Diplomate in Comprehensive Care. For 18 years, he served as Dean of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing where he is currently a University Distinguished Professor. He serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Geriatrics in the College of Medicine, Department of Geriatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR and an Adjunct Professor at Curtin University School of Nursing and Midwifery in Perth, Australia.
